I figured since this event is coming up again, I figured I’d dedicate this latest vlog to the America’s Greatest Heart Run and Walk in which I show off some footage that I shot for YouTube last year when I took part in the Heart Run last year in Utica. The Heart Run is happening again this year and I am once again taking part in it. In fact I have begun taking pledges online and I set up donation links on my blog and Facebook pages.
Hello, everyone. I have just hit another big milestone in the road of life. The other day, I have finally got internet installed at my house. That means that soon I will be operating my whole Internet empire without having to leave the house every morning. Not that I won’t miss it, but I won’t have to worry about hiking up the hill to go to HCCC and I can operate Myspace without any problems, like a No-Myspace rule.
And the good times just keep on coming. I have also received as a belated birthday present from my sister and brother-in-law a new digital camcorder and it works really good. As soon as I am fully internet-ready, there’s a very strong possibility that I will be posting some real videos on there soon.
I didn’t do the Heart Run this year partly because the weather was bad and that something else came up, specifically another Gillette event. This time, it was in Barnes and Noble in New Hartford. It was my first time in there and it was really nice in there. I should probably go back sometime.
In closing, I sure have come a long way since November 2005 when I first set up my email address on Yahoo, therefore giving birth to Blackcatloner. Every day, it seems like I am making leaps and bounds in the technology department and like McDonald’s, “I’m lovin’ it!”
So far not much has been happening from this neck of the woods. I am at HCCC tonight and it is about an hour and a half before I go to work. Since the weather held out today, I figured that today would be a good day to come up and have some more fun on the ol’ web before going back to the grind.
It’s pretty hard to come up with new material since nothing really has been going on, so I figured that I would come up with something relatively different. I am now officially three weeks away from the big 3-0. I decided to take another personal day off from work on February 11. Hopefully, I got it.
Well, I have quite a bit going on in February aside from the fact that I am turning 30 this year. I also have to attend a book signing at the Historical Society on the 23rd in connection with the recent release of the book based on Chester Gillette’s diary. You can read more about that on the “Chester and Grace” site.
And then I’m also probably going to be doing the Heart Run again this year in Utica. I have been receiving some things for it in the mail. I should have more details on that soon. Yessiree, I have a whole lot going on, not to mention the fact that I have to get my book finished. I am pretty close to the end as far as that goes and I am still aiming to get that done and out by sometime this year.

It is just so hard to believe that just last Monday, it was snowing outside on account of a Noreaster weather system that hit the area, and now today it is almost summer outside. At long last, the long winter is over and spring has finally arrived.
I for one am glad that the winter that everyone thought would never end actually did. I am certainly not going to miss the Valentine’s Day blizzard we had this winter, not to mention my assault at work the week after. It seems like every winter something bad happens. I still don’t know for certain what happened to the guy who assaulted me. For all I know, he’s still in jail. I still have some lingering pain in my right hand from where I got hit with the baseball bat, but other than that, I have fully recovered and am back to work at full duty. Of course the whole process of me getting restored to full duty took over a month.
However, not all things that happened to me over the course of this long winter were bad. I did get to go on the Heart Walk with my mother down in Utica in early March. It was the first time in seven years that I had competed in such an event. The last time I did the Heart Run, I was employed by Grand Union in Rhinebeck and the event was held in Poughkeepsie. And as a leftover thread from my involvement in last year’s American Tragedy Centennial commemoration, I also attended a ceremony at Hamilton College where the diary of famous murderer Chester Gillette was donated and I ended up in the newspaper again. And last but certainly not least, I found a secondary place where I can operate my blog sites until I can get my new laptop Internet-ready. In fact, that is where I am right now: In the library at Herkimer County Community College. The upside is that I get more computer time and I can use Myspace again so I can reconnect with old friends and possibly meet new ones and maybe find “the one.”
Now that the long winter is over with, I can get back to work on my book, which I had to put on hold because of everything that has happened. I am optimistic that I can complete it and get it out by next year. Aside from working on my book, my plans for this summer are incomplete, except for the fact that I may go and see “Spider-Man 3,” which is due out in just eleven short days, and “Transformers,” especially since they were such a big part of my childhood and it really looks good.
And hopefully this summer, I will be able to operate online from my own home without having to go anywhere. The possibilities are endless.
