Q & A: Ninjas vs. Green Berets

Hello, everyone. Here is the latest installment of Q & A where I answer yet some more questions that I have been asked on the web. I start off the segment with questions I have been asked on my Formspring account.

Q:What’s your favorite Sci-Fi movie?

A: The Star Wars movies.

Q: What celebrity would you most like to meet in person?

A: Any of ’em would be fine.

Q: Would you rather have the ability to fly or the ability to breathe underwater?

A: Can’t I have both? lol

Q: What was the most interesting place you’ve traveled to?

A: Puerto Rico during spring break of my junior year at Red Hook High School back in the 1995-96 school year. It’s hard to believe that as of this April it will have been 15 years since I made that trip.

Q: Who’s the most beautiful person you know?

A: Not sure, but then again, it’s probably not a good idea to name names in a video in case someone decides to gripe about being mentioned in a YouTube video.

Q: Who’s your favorite musician?

A: Elvis Presley, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Q: What are you most excited about right now?

A: Right now, excited that I’m doing the new season of The Adventures of Blackcatloner.

Q: Do you like it when it snows?

A: Since I live in NY, I would have to say no.

Q: Who do you text message with the most?

A: I don’t really text anyone.

And now on to the Myyearbook questions:

Q: What’s your favorite color?

A: Black.

Q: If I said you had to live without your phone for a week, could you do it?

A: I currently am living without my phone. Haven’t had it since November, but I am in the process of getting another one probably in the next week or two.

Q: If you could have either true love, long life, or a super human ability, which would you choose?

A: Probably long life and superhuman ability because true love doesn’t exist.

Q: Who is your hero?

A: Myself.

Q: What did you eat for breakfast today?

A: Cereal, even though at the time I answered that question, I had a cinnamon bun at Empire Diner.

Q: What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever worked for?

A: My independence.

And to close this latest Q & A segment out, I figured I’d throw in this question that I came across on Twitter that was asked by local tweeter Thomas Armitage, who is a reporter for the Utica Observer-Dispatch, one of the local newspapers in my neck of the woods.

Q: Who would win in a fight, ninjas or green berets?

A: It all depends on the playing field. In close quarters, the ninjas would win, but out in the open, the berets would win because they have guns, tanks, jets, snipers, etc.

That question was pretty much similar to a question that was asked to AngryAussie in a video a couple of years ago, except that the battle was between pirates and ninjas. However the answer is still the same. And there you go, another Q & A completed. If you want to participate and don’t have a Formspring account, you can always ask in the comment section below.

Superhero

Since I don’t really have too much to blog about, I figured I’d take the time to talk about one of my hobbies growing up in Red Hook, mainly because I feel that my life both outside of work as well as my online life as Blackcatloner. I feel as though I am living a double life. There’s my life off the Internet which consists of work and not much else. Then there’s my life online. Here, I can be myself without any fears at all.

Anyway, the point of this blog is basically about me talking about the four years I spent collecting comic books. Before then, I bought a comic here and there, but it wasn’t until sometime after I moved to Tivoli in 1992 that I actually took up comic book collecting.

I mainly collected Spider-Man comics because he is my all-time favorite comic book superhero. He has these amazing abilities and yet he was imperfect and the superhero who is most like us. He had job problems, family problems, money problems, and girl problems (even though when I started collecting comics, he was already married to MJ)… you name it and yet he still had to go out and fight the bad guys, kind of like yours truly. No wonder I refer to myself as “your friendly neighborhood Blackcatloner.”

In addition to the Spider-Man comics, I also collected Batman, beginning with the “Knightfall” storyline where Batman got his back broken by a then-new villain called Bane and had to be replaced with another Batman with a cooler-looking costume. Up until then, the only Batman comics I had were the adaptations of the first two movies. I had seen both and actually enjoyed them. I continued collecting all through high school because the stories were all so closely knit together and had a real feel to them. I made it my weekly routine until very early in my senior year of high school, partly because the stroe I bought my comics from had for some reason stopped carrying them.

And so this concludes another trip down memory lane into the secret past of the real-life superhero known as “Blackcatloner.” What will he do next? Find out next time (as Stan Lee would say), “true believers.”

Taking Care Of Business

Well, today is June 28. That means that it has officially been ten years since I graduated from Red Hook High School. At first I thought I had missed it, but instead it kind of crept up on me like a thief in the night. So far I have not heard anything from anyone I went to school with on Myspace, nor have I had any friend invites from anyone from my class, nor have I heard anything about when they are planning to have the reunion. Of course, I am still not interested in going because I will probably be voted “Least Changed Since High School,” being that I still have no girlfriend and I still can’t drive, so it is probably best that I don’t go anyways.

Anyway, I have only been to HCCC twice this week. I only went on Monday and yesterday. Tuesday I had to mail something out to someone and I had to buy postage because one of the items I was mailing was a package. And I am off from there today. The main reason for this is that I have to get some much-needed work on my book done, not to mention that I won’t be up there Fridays because the library is closed on Fridays for the summer. Next week, I won’t be able to go back until Tuesday because next Monday, I am planning to see “Transformers,” which was why I took a personal day off from work, and both libraries are closed for the 4th of July so I will have a lot more time to work on my book, not to mention that I am going to be on vacation the following week. So I’ll have to wait until Tuesday to see what’s been happening on Myspace and Cupid.

I am going to be one busy bee the next couple of weeks.
