Also included in this episode is a post-credit scene where I do a reaction video to the teaser trailer involving a certain R-rated comic book character.

Life’s Too Short For a Fall Heat Wave

This week I talk about everything from the election to teaser trailers for upcoming movies. Plus I show off some more of Central New York’s famous fall footage.

Fanboy News: More R-Rated Comic Book Movies?! Yes, Please!

Welcome to another installment of Fanboy News where we talk about the movies you really care about and this week, we’re not gonna start with Star Wars news even though there will be one little piece of Star Wars news in this week’s installment. Instead this week we’re gonna start with some Deadpool-related news or what is starting to come to pass in the wake of Deadpool’s box office success. So without further ado, here we go.

In the wake of Deadpool’s massive four-day 152 million dollar take on President’s Day weekend which is not only the biggest February opening weekend ever but it is also the biggest opening ever for an R-rated movie, more comic book movies are now considering an R rating for some of their characters, not that it didn’t exist before. After all, all three Punisher movies have R ratings and also the Blade trilogy. And there are several comic book characters whose movies actually warrant R ratings. One of those characters is Todd McFarlane’s character Spawn. And speaking of which, McFarlane recently posted that he has finished the first draft of the Spawn movie script which is supposed to be a reboot of the 1997 film which actually was cursed for a couple of reasons: 1) It was released to theaters with a PG-13 rating (even though an R-rated cut of the movie does exist on DVD) and 2) It was released on the heels of Batman and Robin after that movie notoriously bombed which temporarily put the comic book movie genre in a state of limbo until the first Blade movie, the first X-Men movie and especially the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man film revitalized the genre.

However, McFarlane revealed that his Spawn script will be less of a comic book movie like the 1997 movie was and more of a horror/supernatural/suspense type movie where Spawn will mainly be a boogeyman-type character who basically stalks the New York underworld. And in addition to writing it, McFarlane wants to direct the movie himself. Now I actually like McFarlane’s work, most notably on Spider-Man and I also collected the early Spawn issues he did. And in a way, McFarlane’s request makes sense because thanks to Deadpool, there can be no harm in giving Spawn back to its creator which can give them the opportunity to do the character right and like I said before, many comic book characters simply need R-rated movies to do them justice.

And Spawn isn’t the only comic book movie that is lobbying for an R-rated reboot, the third Wolverine movie (which is supposed to be Hugh Jackman’s final appearance as Wolverine that will be released in 2017) is also lobbying for an R rating. The last time they tried to give us an R-rated Wolverine movie was with the last solo Wolverine movie back in 2013 which I did see in theaters. Unfortunately, it ended up being a PG-13 even though an unrated version exists on DVD. Then there is also Deadpool 2 to which an R rating is inevitable and from what I heard about Deadpool 2 is that the ending of that movie is supposed to set up an X-Force movie and guess what? The filmmakers want an R rating for that too.

Also in the wake of Deadpool, there seems to be new interest in giving Suicide Squad an R rating despite the fact that Warner Bros. is still very strict about the fact that every DC Cinematic Universe movie has to be rated PG-13. However, I do believe that Suicide Squad looks like it could benefit from an R rating. However, there’s still plenty of time until August 6 so at that rate, anything’s possible.

And just recently Warner Bros. announced that they will in fact be releasing an R-rated version of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice when it is released on Blu-Ray.

You know what we all need in our life? A lot more Transformers movies, at least that’s according to Paramount Pictures, which has announced that the fifth and sixth installments in the film franchise (as well as a spin-off movie featuring the character Bumblebee) are coming to theaters whether you want them or not.

As far as Transformers 5 goes, it has officially entered production. Michael Bay is back as director and will once again star Mark Wahlberg from Age of Extinction. Let’s just hope the next movie is not three fucking hours long. Anyway, Transformers 5 comes out June 23, 2017. The Bumblebee spin-off film which will not be directed by Michael Bay will be released to theaters June 8, 2018 and Transformers 6 will bow June 28, 2019.

Meet Rowan: The main ghostly villain in the all-female Ghostbusters reboot.

And time for some more news in regards to Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters movie in which the main villain of the reboot was revealed at a recent Toy Fair. And I just happen to have an image of it right here. Take a good look, folks. The main villain of the new Ghostbusters movie is the ghost on the fucking logo. And the ghost has formally been identified as Rowan and a majority of ghosts that the female Ghostbusters will be facing include the ghosts of bad guys from New York’s past, which includes pirates, Revolutionary War soldiers and also gangsters. While for now I’m still saying no to this movie, the trailer for this movie is supposed to be released March 1.

In other casting news: Kurt Russell has been cast in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 in an as-yet undisclosed role but there are hints that Star-Lord’s father will be in the movie so if Kurt Russell is playing him, that would be awesome. I finally was able to see the first Guardians movie and it was awesome. So hopefully Volume 2 will be awesome as well. Aw, who am I kidding? Of course it will be awesome! It’s got Chris Pratt in it.

And finally, Star Wars fans, rejoice because Episode 8 is now officially in production and they have also added cast members Benicio Del Toro (even though I knew this from about a year ago) and Laura Dern. And as far as I know, what roles they will be playing in the film is unknown but as far as the plot goes, it’s going to be set immediately after The Force Awakens and again it will focus on Rey as she will be trained in the ways of the Force by Luke Skywalker. And of course Episode 8 will be released in the same December slot that the previous film held and Rogue One will be released in, except we’ve gotta wait until 2017 for Episode 8.

And with that said, it’s time to end this week’s Fanboy News. So in short, do we want more R-rated comic book movies? Yes, we do.

Fanboy News- 2/28/16- More R-Rated Comic Book Movies?! Yes, Please!

This week’s Fanboy News installment deals with the possibilities of more R-rated comic book movies in the wake of Deadpool’s success. There’s also news pertaining to the new Ghostbusters reboot as well as more news in regards to Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise.

Justin Beiber Dumped By Katy Perry at the Jersey Shore

Okay, everyone, I am back with my latest Q & A vlog. However, all the questions I got asked this week were from because I didn’t really get asked anything on Myyearbook. So without further ado, let’s get started.

Q: Who’s the most overrated musician?

A: Definitely Justin Beiber.

Q: What’s your favorite type of flower?

A: Red rose.

Q: What was your favorite thing to do during recess at school?

A: Play outside.

Q: What do you fear?

A: Failure and rejection.

Q: What’s your favorite Marvel superhero?

A: Spider-Man, of course.

Q: Staring at women’s breasts can make you live longer!

A: Now this may not be a question, but I’ll respond anyway by saying, “SWEET!”

Q: Eminem is life! Don’t you agree?

A: Hell, yeah! Slim Shady FTW!

Q: Have you dated someone you met online?

A: Interestingly enough, I have met only two women in person that I initially met online. It didn’t work out with either one, but I still have them as friends.

Q: Would you ever move away from YouTube to another vlogging site such as LetsVlog?

A: I was planning to do some videos on LetsVlog when I signed up for it last year, but I never got around to it. I also tried BlogTV but that didn’t work. I have where I upload The Adventures of Blackcatloner videos every Friday but other than that, I would have to say I’m gonna be sticking with YouTube for the time being.

Q: What do you think of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” and “One of the Boys” albums? Which one did you like better?

A: “One of the Boys” was good, but “Teenage Dream” is even better, especially since I can’t get the title song out of my head.

Q: What hobbies do you have? Are you a gamer, a comic book nerd or a movie buff?

A: I’m gonna answer this in two parts. 1) I write, work out (although I have been slacking in that area because I work overnights but should get back into it again), and of course all my online activities (blogging, YouTube, social networking, etc.) 2) I’m not a gamer (mostly because I can’t afford it) but I collected comic books in high school and I am in fact a movie buff. In fact, last weekend, I saw the latest “Fast and the Furious” film, “Fast Five.” It was awesome.

Q: What are your thoughts on chivalry? Is it dead?

A: Unfortunately yes.

Q: Have you abandoned MySpace like almost everyone else has or do you still keep your MySpace page running out of sympathy?

A: I still have my Myspace (all three of them) up, but I’m not on there anymore. Thank you, Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook and Twitter FTW!

Q: Were you ever a teacher’s pet?

A: Not really.

Q: Did you ever have a teacher who picked on you?

A: I’ve had a couple.

Q: Adamantium is supposed to be unbreakable and can’t be destroyed. Therefore, could Superman break Wolverine’s skeleton? Or could Wolverine’s claws pierce Superman’s skin?

A: Probably one question that will never be answered, even by the most experienced comic book aficionado.

Q: Does the Dark Side really have cookies?

A: Yeah. Chocolate chip ones.

Q: What sort of cell phone do you have? If you don’t have one, which one would you like to have? What are the requirements that a phone must have for you to want to have it?

A: I have a Verizon Prepaid phone which I’ve had for just over a month and it is really awesome. I am able to hang out online (specifically Facebook and Twitter) whereever I am and it is also a camera phone. 🙂

Q: If you could drink only one thing for a year and it couldn’t be water, what would you drink?

A: Pepsi.

Q: Where’d you find out about

A: My YouTube peeps.

Q: Who’s the sexiest woman alive?

A: Definitely not an easy question…

Q: Would you rather be a famous musician or a famous actor?

A: Famous actor. Can’t sing to save my life.

Q: Would you rather get up early or sleep late?

A: Sleep late.

Q: What was the last book you read?

A: “A Shore Thing” by Snooki. Yes, I’m a Jersey Shore fan. Deal with it. Plus a little tidbit: I come from the same area of NY (Hudson Valley/Poughkeepsie area) as Snooki.

Q: What’s the most unselfish thing you’ve ever done?

A:  Well, last week I gave a dollar to a diabetic woman for a soda because she looked like she was about to have a stroke.

Q: What would your dream vacation be?

A: A return trip to Puerto Rico.

Q:What’s the oldest piece of clothing you still own and wear?

A: My Terminator shades from high school.

Q: Who’s your favorite character on The Office?

A: Michael Scott. Good luck, Steve Carell. 🙂

Q: Do you believe there’s intelligent life on other planets?

A: I’m sure there is.

Q: What’s the furthest place you’ve ever traveled to?

A: Puerto Rico.

Q: If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?

A: I have to pick one? That’s a hard one. lol

Q: If you could have the starring role in one movie what would it be?

A: An action movie.

And the last question comes from a question-asking Facebook app,

Q: If you opened a restaurant, what would your house specialty be?

A: Anything Italian, mainly because I love Italian food.

And there you have it. The latest Q & A is now officially in the books. Remember, if you want to ask me anything and don’t have a Formspring account, you can ask in the comment section either here on the blog or on the YouTube video page. Remember, no offensive comments will be accepted.
